Will JAZconvert work on my web site?Can JAZconvert be used on my web site?JAZconvert can easily be installed on any web site! JAZconvert can be installed on any web page by simply adding a couple of lines of HTML. JAZconvert is independent of what language your web site is written in (eg PHP, JSP or ASP), whether it is static, template or database driven, what web server your site runs on (eg Apache or IIS) or what operating system your web server runs on.Does JAZconvert work with ASP web sites?Yes, JAZconvert works with ASP driven web sites. To see an example of a client using an ASP site see "our clients" page and visit http://RentNewCars.com.auDoes JAZconvert work with EziMerchant web sites?Yes, JAZconvert works with EziMerchant Pro 3.5 web sites. Special installation instructions are available for how to install JAZconvert with EziMerchant.Does JAZconvert work with iNetStore web sites?Yes, JAZconvert works with iNetStore Studio. However, it will not work with the iNetStore Online version.Does JAZconvert work with Database Driven web sites?Yes, JAZconvert currency conversion works with database driven web sites including PHP, ASP, JSP, Perl/CGI and Cold Fusion.Does JAZconvert work with Static web sites?Yes, JAZconvert currency conversion works with static web sites.Currency relatedHow often are the currency rates updated?The international currency rates are automatically updated every day. The rates are automatically updated on our server and you are not required to manually change or update the prices. As JAZconvert is a informational service a currency rate updated more than once each day is not necessary. If the an updated international rate is not available on any given day for any reason the previous available rate will be displayed.Where do you source the currencies from?All currencies are source from OzForex on a daily basis. Those rates automatically update our server which then supplies your web site with the currency rates that are used for the JAZconvert conversion.Do I need to change the rates myself each day?You are not required to update the rates yourself. The currency rates are automatically updated and you do not need to change the rates yourself.How are the rates updated?The rates are automatically updated on our server. Your web site then calls our server using the JAZconvert code to retrieve the latest rates. We use advanced caching technologies to make JAZconvert as fast and efficient as possible.How many currencies are included with JAZconvert?JAZconvert currently supports over 45 international currencies.Which currencies are included with JAZconvert?For a full list of the currencies, click on the JAZconvert examples on the home page and scroll through the different currencies.Can you add additional currencies for me?If there is a particular currency that you would like included in the JAZconvert service, e-mail us and we will contact you to advise the possibility of including that currency.What type of rates are used?The rates used are known as spot rates or interbank rates.InstallationIs JAZconvert easy to install?Yes, JAZconvert is easy to install. You do not need to have web design or programming experience.The majority of JAZconvert customers (web site owners/managers) install JAZconvert themselves without needing specific internet skills or the assistance of a web designer. Do you provide Installation Instructions?Yes, we provide easy to understand installation instructions when you register for JAZconvert. The installation instructions include information about how you install JAZconvert together with information about choosing the the base currency, display colours, format etc.Who installs JAZconvert?JAZconvert can be installed by either you (the web site owner/manager) or your web designer can install JAZconvert for you. If you do not have a web designer, we are happy to refer a web designer to you. The installation timeframe for a web designer to install JAZconvert should be relatively short. The installation costs, if any, are not included in the JAZconvert price.PricingHow much is JAZconvert?Please see our pricing page for JAZconvert pricing information.How can I pay for JAZconvert?JAZconvert can be paid on a monthly basis (after the initial 3 month trail) via credit card. Your credit card will simply be debited at the start of each month that you use the JAZconvert service.How is the request quota per month calculated?A request occurs each time a visitor views a page on your site that contains the currency conversion code. The request quota/month represents how many of these requests are included in each level. If this quota is consistently exceeded, we would recommended that you move up to the next level.Are the requests calculated per page or per converted product price?You can add a JAZconvert converted price for several of your product prices on the one web page. You can then use JAZconvert on as many pages of your web site as you wish.For monthly usage purposes the usage is calculated per page that is viewed by your visitors irrespective of how many times you used the JAZconvert pricing conversion on that particular web page. So if you display several prices on the one page, a visitor viewing that page would only be recorded as one usage of JAZconvert. 3 month trial questionsHow can I sign up for the 3 month Trial?To sign up for the 3 month trial simply visit our registration page. At the top of the registration page you will see a "3 month trial option". Simply select that option, complete the registration form and submit. We will then contact you regarding the installation instructions.What happens at the end of the 3 month trial?We will contact you towards the end of your 3 month trial to see if you would like to proceed with the JAZconvert service. When you decide to proceed, you will you will provide your credit card payment details via a secure web page and your credit card would then be debited on the 1st day of the month for as many months as you use the JAZconvert service. If you do not proceed, you will simply need to advise us and then remove the JAZconvert code from your web siteDo I have to proceed after the 3 month trial?No, you will not be obliged to continue with the JAZconvert service after the 3 month trial. If you choose not to proceed, you will simply need to let us know and remove the JAZconvert code from your web site.Automatic country detectionDoes JAZconvert automatically detect the Web Site Visitor's Country?Yes, JAZconvert automatically detects the web site visitor's country and then automatically displays the web site product and service prices in that appropriate international currency.Why does a Convert hyperlink appear instead of a price?If the hyperlink next to the price reads "Convert", JAZconvert has detected that your home currency is the same as the base currency of the web site. It will read "Convert" rather than having two prices in the same currency. Click the "Convert" hyperlink and try selecting a different currency (eg USD - US Dollar) - all of the prices will then appear in that currency.What do my Visitor's see for the International Currency?Your web site visitors will automatically see your product prices in their home currency. If a visitor views your page from England, they will see your prices in British Pounds, if from Japan, they will see Japanese Yen. If they want to - they can then click on the price hyperlink to change to a preferred currency.What if I don't want my home country visitors to see "Convert" everywhere?JAZconvert can be tailored for your home country visitors. For your home currency visitors, you can choose what you would like to be displayed, for example you may simply want a "blank space" to appear with no alternate currency, or you may like to use a word other than convert, or you may like a default currency as as $US prices etc. You will be able to choose how JAZconvert will appear for your home visitors when you use the installation instructions for JAZconvert.What happens if JAZconvert cannot detect the person's country?If for whatever reason JAZconvert is not able to determine the country from which someone is viewing a web site, it will display a default international currency. When installing JAZconvert you can decide which currency you would like to be the default currency. The US currency is often used as the default. The visitor will then be able to select their preferred currency from the currency drop down option.What happens if a persons' country is not included in the JAZconvert currency list?If a person is viewing a web site from a country not included in our 45 currencies, the default international currency prices will appear. When installing JAZconvert you can decide which currency you would like to be the default currency. The US currency is often used as the default.JAZconvert appearance and layoutHow JAZconvert looksYou can customise JAZconvert to fit with the look and feel of your site. You can choose the colour, layout and format. We suggest that the JAZconvert prices appear next to or near your home base currency prices.Does JAZconvert have to appear like it did in the Demonstration Page?No, if you requested a demonstration page for JAZconvert the demonstration page was only an example of how JAZconvert could look on your web site. You can choose the colour, position, layout and format of JAZconvert when you install JAZconvert on your web site.What if I don't want my home country visitors to see "Convert" everywhere?JAZconvert can be tailored for your home country visitors. For your home currency visitors, you can choose what you would like to be displayed, for example you may simply want a "blank space" to appear with no alternate currency, or you may like to use a word other than convert, or you may like a default currency as as $US prices etc. You will be able to choose how JAZconvert will appear for your home visitors when you use the installation instructions for JAZconvert.Tax, GST, VAT and other calculationsCan JAZconvert alter the amount that is converted?Yes. JAZconvert can increase or decrease the amount that you wish to convert. This can be by a percentage (eg. increase or decrease it by 10%) or by a fixed amount (eg increase it by 10 dollars).Can JAZconvert remove the GST/VAT/Tax for the amount that is converted?Yes. JAZconvert can adjust the amount to be converted however as you wish. You may have a local tax (eg Australian GST) that is not applicable when sending goods internationally. Therefore, you may wish to remove this amount before doing the conversion - JAZconvert supports you doing this. There are full instructions available for how you can use this option.Customer payment and chargingCan I continue to charge my customers in my business currency?Yes, JAZconvert is designed for informational purposes to help web site visitors see an approximate cost of products and services in their home currency. If you wish, you can continue to charge your web site customers in your home currency. You should just let your customers know which currency they will be charged in. See the section below about "how should I tell my customers that the international conversions are approximate prices?".^Top Does JAZconvert go on the final order shopping cart page?JAZconvert is designed for informational purposes to help web site visitors see an approximate cost of products and services in their home currency. The currency conversion amount actually charged to a consumer's credit card is dependent upon a combination of the payment gateway used and the credit card bank/company's exchange rates at the exact time when the credit card is charged (with different banks charging different rates). For this reason we do not recommend that JAZconvert be added to the shopping cart page of a web site as the total converted amount may be different to the amount appearing on the consumer's credit card statement.Are the JAZconvert currencies the exact currencies that will be charged to the web site customer?JAZconvert is designed for informational purposes to help web site visitors see an approximate cost of products and services in their home currency. The currency conversion amount actually charged to a consumer's credit card is dependent upon a combination of the payment gateway used and the credit card bank/company's exchange rates at the exact time when credit card is charged (with different banks charging different rates). For this reason, the exact international rates appearing with JAZconvert, will not be the exact rates charged by the credit card company and appearing on the customer's credit card statement.How should I tell my customers that the international conversions are approximate prices?We suggest that a note be made on the web site in your preferred location (at the bottom of each page and/or in an information page section) including information such as the following : confirming that the currency conversion amounts appearing on product pages are for informational purposes and are approximate amounts in the converted currency, that the consumer's credit card will be charged in .. (Australian dollars, UK pounds, your business currency), and the converted amounts are not necessarily the exact amount which will appear on the consumer's credit card statement.Does JAZconvert require additional hardware, hosting or bandwidth costs?The currency rates are located on our server. You are not required to purchase any additional equipment to use JAZconvert. As the currency rates are not located on your server, you do not have any additional hosting or bandwidth costs or burdens.Performance and reliability of the JAZconvert serviceWill JAZconvert slow down my site?At the top of every page that will use JAZconvert is a request to the JAZconvert server. This request returns a script that is approximately 3.5Kb in size. JAZconvert uses advanced caching techniques, this means that this script will generally only be downloaded to the client once per user session. After it has been downloaded to the client once, the client will then use the script from their browser cache - therefore no longer downloading the script. This ensures that JAZconvert has the least impact on your sites performance as possible.What happens to my web site if the JAZconvert server fails?If for some reason the JAZconvert server is unavailable, what will happen depends on a variety of issues -
All of these issues contribute to what will happen. JAZconvert has been designed so that if the request for the JAZconvert script fails, the web page will still display correctly without any errors. This is generally what will occur. However, in certain circumstances (eg a proxy server is being used) and certain browser configurations, a JavaScript error may be displayed when the page is viewed and the server is unavailable. Where are your JAZconvert servers located?There are currently three JAZconvert servers located in the US.Do you offer a service guarantee?We do not offer a service guarantee due to a number of variables that are outside of our control (ie network connectivity, hardware, software etc).GeneralWhat is the Minimum Term?After the 3 month trial, JAZconvert is licenced on a monthly (month to month) basis.How can I pay for JAZconvert?JAZconvert can be paid on a monthly basis (after the initial 3 month trail) via credit card. Your credit card will simply be debited at the start of each month that you use the JAZconvert service.Will JAZconvert only work on one page?No, JAZconvert will work on every page of your web site.
